End of Season Update

Hi all, this is a thank you for all your support over the last year, it was really appreciated. As you know, this was our first year in competitive leagues and we must say the boys did themselves proud with some super performances, demonstrating improving skills in both hurling and football. Highlights include great team spirit and performances at Ballyboden and St Bridgets, as well as the mentor gungefest and paintball outing. Next year we will move away from CCC1 go game rules to full rules in CCC2 leagues. Below are just a few notes on what is to come.

  • All teams are to hand up a team sheet to referees which is to include GAA registration number and name of player in both English and Irish. We will need the boys’ registration numbers (via club membership) and names in Irish.
  • Games will be 13-15 a side on a full pitch with unlimited substitutes for the first year.
  • Matches will throw in between 1.30 and 3.30pm on Saturday afternoons. (Based on this years times).
  • The boys will be expected to have their own hurl, helmet, gum shield as well suitable footwear (boots, astro’s) for training and matches. Players will be required to wear white shorts and green socks on matchdays.
  • Currently we will be training at the same time, but should a larger pitch become available this may move to Monday and Wednesday.
  • Last training session for this year will be Tuesday 19th of November, due to work commitments.
  • A club awards presentation will take place on Sunday, December 1st at 3 pm in Castaheany community centre.
  • Training will resume in mid-January with notification via Teamer.

Thanks Lee, Stephen and Simon.
